Assigning a phone number to a resource account in Microsoft Teams

Resource accounts are required in Microsoft Teams to use features such as voice menus (IVRs), queues, and call groups. And of course they need to have a phone number assigned. We’ll show you how to do that.

You can also easily assign a phone number to resource accounts in Teams Connector.

To do this, simply follow the steps below:

1. Create a resource account.
   If you haven’t already, simply create the resource account in the Teams Admin Center and do the configuration.
2. Assign license
   The resource account must then be assigned a valid license for Microsoft Phone.
3. Assign phone number
   If you now click on “Manage MS Teams users” in the Teams Connector, the resource account will appear in the list and you can assign a phone number.
